The Orlando International Airport has received grant funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) from the Federal Aviation Administration as follows:

Project: BP-373, Taxiway B Improvements and Related Work

  • Description: The project generally includes pavement rehabilitation in order to eliminate areas of distressed pavement, geometric modifications to the taxiway fillets to accommodate cockpit over centerline maneuvering, correct vertical alignment and transverse grades to meet the FAA AC 150/5300-13 Airport Design and improve pavement section to comply with FAA AC 150/5320-6D Airport Pavement Design and Evaluation at Orlando International Airport.

  • Final Cost: $4,978,597
  • ARRA Funds Received: $2,416,847

Project:  BP-394C, Rehabilitation of Taxiway C and Related Work, Phase III

  • Description: Taxiway C is a parallel and primary taxiway servicing Runway 18R-36L and Runway 18L-36R. The objective of the project is to extend the expected useful life of the taxiway pavements, maintain the aircraft taxiing capacity and enhance the safety of operations at the Orlando International Airport. This project generally includes the resurfacing and/or strengthening of the taxiway pavements and related work for Taxiway C and associated taxiway connectors from Taxiway E to Taxiway B-1.

Project: BP-421, Taxiway Y & Z Rehabilitation

  • Description: Taxiway Y and Z work will consist of an asphalt pavement rehabilitation in order to eliminate areas of distressed pavement, correct vertical alignment and transverse grades to meet FAA AC 150/5300-13 Airport Design Criteria where required, and improve pavement sections where required in order to comply with latest requirements per FAA AC 150/5320-6D Airport Pavement Design and Evaluation at Orlando International Airport.

  • Description:  Replacement/connection/addition of various TSA Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Monitoring System cameras at the Orlando International Airport.

Project:  BP-X019, Airport Security Improvement Program - In-Line Baggage Screening System, Phase C

  • Description: Implementation of the Central and West screening matrices for the in-line baggage screening system.

Project:  BP-X021, Building 830 Remote Baggage Screening Facility Improvements (Design)

  • Description:  Design of an in-line EDS baggage screening facility to replace and upgrade the existing manual operation for screening bags from remote sources (i.e., Disney, hotels, cruise lines, etc.) in Building 830 at the Orlando International Airport.

Upcoming Construction Projects

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) has an on-going construction program and will be advertising for bids on various construction projects. This program includes both building construction and civil work at Orlando International Airport and Orlando Executive Airport. The construction values of the individual projects are estimated to be between $250,000 and $35 million.

This site is used to dispense as much information as possible to potential bidders on proposed construction projects for which bids will be solicited within the next three months.
