8/30/2006 - Tropical Storm Ernesto Has Minimal Impact on Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, FL. - Orlando International Airport is open and operating at this time. Airport personnel continue to monitor weather conditions. Please be advised that:

  • The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and its aviation partners continue to track the storm.
  • Flight schedules at Orlando International Airport may be affected and some flights may be delayed or cancelled mainly to the storm impacted areas if weather conditions deteriorate.
  • Passengers need to check with their individual airlines on the status of flights before arriving at the airport.
  • Orlando International Airport is NOT an emergency shelter.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority does not determine if flights are cancelled or if they will continue to operate to and from the airport. The air carriers, the Federal Aviation Administration and the individual flight crews determine flight activity.
