ORLANDO, FL. July marks the fifth straight month that Orlando International Airport (MCO) has accommodated and processed over three million passengers. In July 3,134,132 travelers used MCO, which is a 2.31 percent increase over this time last year.
Five straight months of growth and processing a total of over 15 million passengers during that time demonstrates the need for us to begin new projects to expand the capacity and flexibility of our current terminal and facilities, says Steve Gardner, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
Previous four months with over three million passengers:
- March - 3,320,172
- April - 3,213,051
- May - 3,046,130
- June - 3,001,175
For the month of July, overall airport operations at Orlando Executive Airport also increased about half a percent up 0.59 compared to July of 2005.
Orlando International Airport is the busiest passenger airport in Florida with over 34.1 million travelers in 2005.
