ORLANDO, FL. – For the month of December, traffic volumes increased nearly five percent (+4.99) with over three million travelers moving through Orlando International Airport (MCO). Strong seasonal and holiday travel helped MCO retain the title of busiest passenger airport in Florida with 3,010,913 travelers during the month.
Overall passenger traffic increased 2.13 percent, climbing to a record 34.8 million (34,830,914) travelers in 2006. Nationally the number of air travelers decreased last year by half a percent. In comparison, Orlando International saw growth of 2.7 percent for enplaned passengers for the year.
Operations at Orlando Executive Airport also increased for the year, up 3.61 percent to 136,191 total operations. For the month of December, overall operations remained unchanged at 13,211.

In a recent survey Orlando International Airport, Florida’s busiest airport, was rated as the favorite airport of American travelers according to TripAdvisor.com, the largest travel related community in the world.
