ORLANDO, FL. – The number of international visitors coming to Central Florida through Orlando International Airport (MCO) increased in March. The increase of more than five and a half percent (5.53%) represents approximately 215 thousand international passengers. The addition helped to boost total passenger numbers to over 3.3 million for the month. (3,386,040) In March, total passenger traffic increased nearly one and a quarter percent.
Airlines also increased the number of available flights in and out of MCO in March. On a weekly basis, there were 74 additional flights to destinations including, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Buffalo, New York, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, White Plains, Columbus, Manchester, San Juan and Mexico City.
Orlando International Airport, the busiest passenger airport in Florida with nearly 35 million passengers annually, is also the only airport in Florida using hydrogen power, bio-diesel fuel and hybrid vehicles to promote practical environmental responsibility.
