ORLANDO, FL. – The most coveted award in basketball arrived in Orlando. Amongst hundreds of fans and passengers the trophy was delivered at Orlando International Airport for the second leg of its journey to the two host cities in the NBA Finals. The Larry O’Brien trophy is awarded to the team that wins the NBA championship.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Aviation Authority Board member welcomes NBA legend Sam Jones, Southwest Airlines Captain Rob Ray and the Larry O’Brien trophy to Central Florida.

The 16 pound, Larry O’Brien trophy, layered in 24-karat gold, arrived aboard “Slam Dunk One” a specially branded Southwest Airlines 737 aircraft.
