12/18/2010 - "Flash Random Act of Culture" Brings Hallelujah Chorus to Orlando International Airport
ORLANDO, FL. – On one of the busiest travel days of the 2010 holiday travel season, passengers from all over the world were treated to a unique “Random Act of Culture” at Orlando International Airport (MCO). On Saturday, December 18, 2010, over 100 choir members from the Messiah Choral Society and Bach Festival Choir brought the holiday spirit to the airport with a seasonal favorite, the Hallelujah Chorus.
The event took place in the Orlando International Airport Hyatt Hotel Atrium in front of the four story tall main holiday tree. Not only were passengers surprised by the flash, many also participated. More than 1.7 million travelers are expected during the16-day peak travel period, representing a 4 percent increase over the previous year.
The event is consistent with Orlando International Airport’s commitment to showcasing the arts of Central Florida to the rest of the world.
