4/22/2014 - Increase in Domestic Visitors Pushes Total Traffic Up at Orlando International in February

 
 

ORLANDO, FL. - Overall passenger traffic at Orlando International Airport (MCO) increased more than 1 percent in February thanks to a 2.3 percent increase in domestic travelers.

"The Arctic blast that blanketed much of the country in January and February helped make Central Florida a very attractive travel destination", says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. "The extremely cold and wintery weather combined with attractive local travel offers bolstered our domestic numbers and the local economy."

February Statistical Data:

  • Domestic traffic increased by 2.29 percent in February with 2,444, 120 passengers
  • International traffic declined by 8.01 percent with 293,558 travelers during the month
  • Overall passenger volume increased 1.08 percent for the month with a total of 2,737,678 travelers
  • Year-to-date overall traffic is up 1.16 percent at Orlando International Airport
 

During the month, Copa Airlines celebrated its 14th anniversary at MCO while CanJet commemorated 11 years of service at Orlando International.
