11/22/2011 - VivaAerobus Starts Scheduled Non-stop Service to Monterrey, Mexico
Orlando, FL - Orlando International Airport is proud to announce the arrival of its newest airline addition, VivaAerobus, Mexico’s low fare airline; and Orlando’s newest international destination, Monterrey, the capital city of the northeastern state of Nuevo León, Mexico.

The 148-seat B737/300 service will operate every Saturday:
Orlando is one of three destinations in the U.S. to which VivaAerobus is starting service this month, doubling its number of U.S. destinations, in addition to the 27 destinations it serves throughout Mexico.
Monterrey becomes Orlando’s 35th international destination, 22 of which are served year-round, with service to the other 13 destinations operating on a seasonal basis.
VivaAerobus started operations in November 2006 after being created by the combined expertise of IAMSA and Irelandia. IAMSA is the leading company in passenger transportation by bus in Mexico. Irelandia is the investment vehicle of the Ryan family. The Ryan family were the founders of Ryanair, Europe's largest and most successful low cost airline.
The new service is expected to generate an economic impact to Central Florida of approximately $6.4 million annually.
