New Year, New Record Traffic at Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, FL. – Orlando International Airport begins 2016 with 12,500 more daily passengers in January as compared to this month last year. That’s a nearly 12.6 percent increase.

Continuing the momentum through January from the busy year-end holiday season, Orlando International registered double-digit growth in both domestic and international traffic pushing the 12-month rolling total to nearly 39.2 million.

January Statistical Data:

  • Domestic traffic climbed 11.37 percent with 2,988,594 total passengers
  • International traffic was up 20.28 percent with a total of 494,259 passengers
  • Overall traffic moved upward by 12.55 percent with a 3,482,853 passengers for the month
  • Rolling 12-month figures show a record total of 39,197,829 passengers moving through Orlando International Airport
  • Rolling 12-month data for Orlando Executive Airport shows a slight increase of 1 percent with 111,093 total operations

For the month, airlines added 10.7 percent more seat capacity or more than 400 thousand seats compared to January of 2015.
