ORLANDO, FL. – November kicked off the start of the busy holiday travel season at Orlando International Airport (MCO). In November, on a rolling 12-month basis, MCO recorded its busiest time period in history with nearly 41.8 million passengers.
Orlando International saw a 10 percent increase in traffic for the 12-day Thanksgiving holiday travel period which translated into 1.4 million passengers.
“We prepared for the busy holiday season the same way we continue to prepare for record numbers of travelers on a daily basis, by providing our passengers with the latest in technology and focusing on excellent customer service,” says Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “At this pace of growth we are expecting to break all passenger records at MCO by exceeding 42 million travelers before the end of the year.”
November Statistical Data:
- On a rolling 12-month basis, international traffic climbed 11.68 percent with 5,595,720 total passengers
- Domestic traffic on a rolling 12-month scale was up 8.19 percent with 36,189,928 travelers flying through MCO
- Overall passenger traffic for the rolling 12-month period was up 8.64 percent with a total of 41,785,648
- For the calendar year, international traffic was up 11.07 percent in November with 5.1 million passengers
- Domestic passenger traffic increased 8.04 percent for the November calendar year with 33.1 million travelers
- While domestic traffic was up 6.29 percent with 3 million travelers for the month
- Overall traffic in November reflected an increase of 5.55 percent with 3,435,433 passengers
